On February 22, 1986, twenty-one insightful sorors chartered the Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter (MRAC). The chartering was a joyous occasion officiated by Soror Verdelle B. Bellamy, Southern Regional Director, in the community room of the East Cobb Dekalb Federal Savings Bank on Johnson Ferry Road.
The chartering was the culmination of more than a year of effort to establish the first African-American sorority in Cobb County. Through their hard work and diligence these women set a standard of excellence which continues to this day. Their dedication to public service and selfless giving have set a benchmark which we strive daily to obtain. The Insightful 21 lit a torch of excellence which shall be carried by all those whom are privileged to become members of the Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
